Szolnok – Izu´s amazing Schnitzel

C & C | 28. April 2012

From Cluj we took the train to Szolnok, where Cecilia’s great-aunt along with other family members live. Szolnok was an important cultural and economic crossroads for centuries, but to us it’s the place we go to see Izu. She is a total sweetheart and it’s always a pleasure to see her. She also cooks delicious food (and the BEST Schnitzel EVER!). We also met some of Cecilia’s cousins and an uncle, so it was very nice. Besides cooking very well, Izu also likes to tell lots of stories from days long gone. We in turn told her about our trip and showed her pictures, which she enjoyed very much. We also walked around the town a little bit and on the nice promenade along the Tisza River. We didn’t stay long in Szolnok, but it was very pleasant. From there we took the train to Budapest with Cecilia’s parents. They flew back to Montreal and we flew back to Germany.
